Lately I’ve been going to meetups and getting to know a lot of great founders. Every deep conversation with founders from different backgrounds and industries feels like an “expansion” of the limits of what I know.
When I talk with founders in other fields (hardware, green energy, sales and so on) about their problems, their challenges and their solutions, the completely different angles they take and the logic underneath always give me a fresh view. Sometimes they even overturn assumptions I’d held. For someone like me who only works in AI, that’s hugely valuable.
I also love hearing people share their founder journeys: the holes they fell into, the late nights they pushed through, the key decision points, the unexpected wins. To me, this kind of real “experience” is worth more than any textbook. And as a second-time founder, I find that my own experiences and lessons take on new meaning, and find an echo, in these conversations.
Often it’s in a seemingly casual chat or a deep discussion that a problem I’ve been stuck on in my current work suddenly gets unstuck, thanks to someone else’s perspective or experience. A new spark of an idea appears. It’s honestly amazing.
My biggest takeaway from all of this: starting a company has never been a lonely race. It’s more like an open expedition, full of chances to work together. Talking with great fellow travelers doesn’t just show us a bigger world. It lets us light the way for each other and help each other grow faster.
Keep learning, stay open, enjoy sharing. I’m looking forward to swapping ideas with more like-minded founders, so we can all keep improving together on this road of building a company, which is full of challenges but also incredibly exciting! 💪
